6 Tips to Help You Prep For Your Wedding

Wedding planning can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be! Many couples don’t know where to start when it comes to preparing for their big day! Lucky for you, I’m a pro, and here to make things easier for you with these six tips to help you prep for your wedding!

Hire a planner

Seriously, hire a planner/design team! They will take care of everything from floral arrangements to vendor price negotiations to spell checking your invitations! Even small weddings require a lot of organization and a planner will make your life so much easier. Here is a link to a planner who is not only amazing but has created some epic guides to help. Book appointments ahead of time

There’s nothing worse than having your wedding date creep up on you and not having hair, makeup, and nail appointments all booked! Not just beauty appointments! All dress/suit fittings, as well as final meetings with vendors, should all be planned well in advance as well.

Nail down final details

It’s great to have day-of details planned as far in advance as possible. Try to sit down and put some thought into which bridesmaids will be paired with which groomsmen, which family members you’ll need for portraits, etc. Details like this will help you feel prepared. Not to mention make things easier not only for you but also for vendors and guests on the big day.

Make a timeline

I can’t stress enough how important having a wedding day timeline is! One of my absolute favorite wedding tips is to print out your timeline and give it to everyone who has a role in your day! This includes maid of honor, best man, photographer, parents, commissioner and all vendors! I love an organized bride and I bet everyone else will appreciate it too!

Create a checklist

This goes hand in hand with your wedding day timeline. Creating a checklist during the first stages of wedding planning will help keep you on schedule throughout the process! No more stressing about what’s left to do or what you may have forgotten because you’ll have it all detailed in your handy dandy wedding checklist!

Know your budget

For most couples, staying on budget is one of the most important things and the biggest challenge. After you get engaged, before you do anything, and I mean ANYTHING, sit down with your partner and make a budget. Everything about your big day will depend on this budget. Don’t pick a dress, a venue, a caterer, a photographer, or even a date before you know your budget! A ton of things depend on how much money you have to spend and have that laid out ahead of time will make everything go smoother.

These tips to help you prep for your wedding aren’t set in stone, nor do they apply to everyone but I’m hoping even a little bit of guidance will help relieve stress around your big day. Being engaged is one of the happiest times in your lives! You should be able to enjoy the process as much as possible!
